Huk Big Fish Classic

July 23, 2027 - July 25, 2027

The Huk Big Fish Classic, taking place July 23–25, 2027, at Talbot Street Pier, Ocean City, Maryland, is a thrilling overnight offshore fishing tournament where the biggest catches win. Opening lines in two 32-hour slots (Friday–Saturday or Saturday–Sunday), teams compete to reel in the heaviest qualifying Atlantic fish—whether it’s blue marlin, tuna, swordfish, mahi, wahoo, or other species. The top prize in Division A for the single heaviest fish is fully guaranteed, and last year’s total purse reached an impressive $1.25 million.

Registration opens on Thursday, July 22, with onsite sign-up starting at noon at M.R. Ducks, followed by an 8 PM captain’s meeting that also includes a festive kick-off party. Scales open nightly from 4 PM to 9 PM on Friday and Saturday, and until 8 PM on Sunday. A lively BFC Village—filled with vendors, live music, raffles, and refreshments—opens daily at 3 PM, offering entertainment and community spirit.

Boats choose one 32-hour slot: Friday 2 AM to Saturday 3 PM, or Saturday to Sunday. The tournament is open to private and charter boats alike and encourages anglers to bring their A-game. Entry deadlines fall ahead of June 1 with early-bird boat registration at $900, rising to $1,200 thereafter .

Spectators are welcome to join the action free of charge. Weigh-ins are a spectacle, with dramatic catch reveals and cash prize announcements each evening. A closing awards banquet on Sunday evening wraps up the weekend in style with trophies, camaraderie, and plenty of fish tales.
