White Marlin Open adds new Heaviest White Marlin Winnter Take All Calcutta
Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Excitement is building as the 42nd Annual White Marlin Open nears.

The first full week of August, locally know as White Marlin Week, is quickly approaching and locals and visitors alike are anxiously awaiting the chance to catch a glimpse of a million dollar marlin, thousand pound blue marlin, or giant tuna.

Hundreds of boats and thousands of anglers from up and down the East Coast and Southern United States will be vying for over $3 million in prize money. Each boat will pick three out of five days to fish, all hoping to land a big money fish. Last year the winning white marlin was worth over $1.29 million in prize money!

Tournament organizers expect an increase in both participating boats and prize money this year, with the addition of two new added--entry skill levels. New Heaviest White Marlin Winner Take All and Daily Tuna categories are sure to add even more excitement to the event. Weigh--ins will take place nightly August 3--7 at Harbour Island Marina, 14th Street & Bay, from 4pm--9:15pm. Huge crowds gather to see big fish, enjoy live entertainment, food and drinks, and of course to get their official White Marlin Open t--shirt.

Don’t let the big one get away! Enter now! For more information on becoming a participant or spectator, please visit www.whitemarlinopen.com or call 410--289--9229.
