The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Service Invitations for Bids

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MD DNR), Fisheries Service is soliciting bids for the MD Chesapeake Bay Striped Bass Spawning Area Experimental Drift Gill Net Survey: Spring, 2015.

The MD DNR requires:

A captain having at least five (5) years experience in drift gill netting in the Sandy Point to Freestone Point area of the Potomac River, one mate and boat to fish experimental drift gill net in the Potomac River, five to seven days per week, as needed, for seven to eight weeks, beginning on or after Monday, March 30, 2015.

A captain having at least five (5) years experience in drift gill netting in the Howell Point to Turkey Point area of the Upper Chesapeake Bay, one mate and boat to fish experimental drift gill net in the Upper Chesapeake Bay, five to seven days per week, as needed, for seven to eight weeks, beginning on or after Monday, March 30, 2015.

Experimental survey net is to be supplied by the MD DNR. Net is to be set and taken in on a slack tide each day, weather permitting, at the direction of the attending biologist who will accompany all fishing activity. Captains must provide a sound, seaworthy boat and engine, capable of being used for drift gill netting, with functioning depth sounder;

Bid to be: price per day of fishing; Only written bids will be accepted.

Bids must be received by: Friday, February 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
